The Department of Biobehavioral Nursing & Health Systems , a division of the School of Nursing, currently has an outstanding opportunity for a Software Engineer This individual will be responsible for the architecture, development, and implementation of clinical and public health information systems supporting the Clinical Informatics Research Group (CIRG)
The Software Engineer ensures development and production computing resources are available for a variety of projects in clinical and public health informatics, involving secure web applications and data integration
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Design, document, analyze, develop, and test software projects • Evaluate, select, acquire, customize, and integrate open source software to create complex systems in support of CIRG research activities, including data integration & web architectures • Integrate data into CIRG projects using appropriate scripting and data transfer software such as web & cloud services, PHP, Perl, cURL, Pentaho, etc • Under the guidance of the lead Software Engineer and Project Manager, monitor system and server issues for projects being utilized in a service capacity, including disk utilization, downtimes, security, and performance • Help develop implementation strategies and backup processes for new installations of software projects • Work with other members of the development team, training team, and support team to document CIRG software projects for various uses, e
