  • JOB DESCRIPTION: SOFTWARE PROGRAM ENGINEER JOB SUMMARY: Executes activities of the software development organization to ensure that goals or objectives of specific projects are accomplished within the prescribed time frame and resource parameters by performing the following duties personally or through indirect staff
  • • Establishes and documents design and implementation of major SW systems and/or sub-systems Creates and maintains Software/Firmware codes • In conjunction with engineering team, helps to establishes project milestones. • Evaluates and recommends modifications and updates to project plans. • Responsible for handling more than one software project • Develops / creates project deliverables, milestones, and required tasks
  • • Assigns duties, responsibilities, and scope of authority to less senior software personnel
  • • Participates in the development of standards and procedures for software development, validation and verification and project reporting and documentation
  • • Keeps management and others informed of project status and related issues
  • • Coordinates and responds to request for changes from original specifications
  • • Develops and maintains technical and project documentation
  • • Investigate and resolve defects and enhancement requests on existing SW implementations • Document / Recommend strategies for improvement of best practices for Software Development at AMO
  • REQUIREMENTS - QUALIFICATIONS: SOFTWARE PROGRAM ENGINEER Basic Qualifications: • 5-10 years experience in development of software systems for complex electro-mechanical systems
  • • Significant real time embedded development experience combined with experience in 4 or more of the following technologies / languages and systems: QNX, C, C++, Requirements Management, SW Configuration Management, firmware development, embedded development, GUI design and development, 21CFR820
  • • Verification and Validation strategies and Techniques
  • • Exceptional English language communications skills
  • Preferred Qualifications: • 2 + years in a leadership role
  • • Medical device experience preferred
