Cardon Children’s Medical Center is currently recruiting for a Chief Medical Officer
This beautiful new building houses medical professionals focused on excellent patient care and outstanding quality. Our state-of-the-art facility features 248 beds, specially trained nurses and doctors and family-centered care. Cardon Children's Medical Center is the centerpiece of a $356 major expansion project completed in 2009 on the Banner Desert Medical Center campus This position provides medical management oversight, coordination, and improvement of clinical care and patient safety for one or more facilities
Provides leadership in care management system wide
Partners with the Chief Executive Officer, Chief Nursing Officer and Chief of Medical Staff to provide medical leadership and accountability in clinical outcomes and performance, patient satisfaction, strategic planning, admin/fiscal operations, regional and system leadership, and community relations
Care management functional areas include patient safety, case management, utilization management, population health management, clinical data management, clinical performance measurement and improvement
Medical Doctorate or Doctor of Osteopathy degree required with appropriate board certification or qualification and level of expertise typically gained with five years experience in clinical practice
Must be eligible for or hold a current state license to practice medicine and be eligible for medical staff privileges
Three years of medical staff administrative experience also required
Experience with hospital organized medical staff, managed care organizations, and continuous quality improvement activities preferred
If facility based, experience and familiarity with the specific facility's medical staff is preferred
Requires the ability to demonstrate system-thinking
Requires extensive reading, written and verbal communication, presentation, financial/statistical analysis, and use of computer systems and software
